Since 2021, thousands of migrants are used as weapons in Lukashenka’s regime hybrid war against the EU at Belarusian-Polish border. This regime-sponsored human trafficking is aimed at creating a humanitarian crisis in  EU and its member states and to undermine the EU’s security.

Most recently, Belarussian authoritarian regime delivered an inhumane verdict on Andrzej Poczobut, Polish-Belarusian journalist who had reported critically on the Belarusian regime. Lack of transparent trial, inhuman treatment and the verdict clearly indicate the lack of respect for human dignity, European values and rights of the Polish minority in Belarus.

In response to those actions, Poland moved to shut down a crossing point on its border with Belarus in Bobrowniki and Kuźnica. Unfortunately, due to the closing of crossing point many of polish borderland residents and their businesses now face bankruptcy.

Taking into consideration former state-aid programmes:

1) Does EC monitor the impact of recent crossing point closing on other areas than tourism?

2) Does polish government notified EC on its plan to compensate businesses impacted by Bobrowniki case?

3) Does EC plan to allow to extend the 21m€ state-aid programme to the companies from other sectors than tourism suffering from recent closing of the borders crossing?
